CCTV In Manufacturing: Deep Draw Press Demo
posted by by andy WendtThis Pan Tilt Zoom (PTZ) camera is being used by a Sheet Metal Manufacturer to watch their Deep Draw Press Machine. You can see in the demo that the operator makes a slight zoom out with the camera. The actual camera being used has a 17x zoom capability and if helpful to the operator it could zoom in to the point that the even the yellow safety label on the left hand side of the machine would be easily readable. Of course reading labels is hardly the goal of your CCTV system but that same Zoom ability could provide real time information to insure that an employee is operating the equipment safely and according to plant guidelines.
As we mention on our Pan Tilt Zoom Security Camera page this type of camera is a great addition to any CCTV Camera System. While not a replacement for fixed cameras which we still recommended to watch fixed areas that need constant observation, a PTZ camera can be centrally located to provide an extra level of detail and management information.
