How to upgrade your GeoVision DVR Software

Looking to upgrade your GeoVision DVR to the latest software version? If so follow the software upgrade instructions below that start with a download of the V8.01 Detection Tool to determine if your GeoVision DVR card can take advantage of the latest version of software.

Detection Tool Instructions:
After downloading the Detection Tool from the link below and unzipping the folder, copy the two files DetectSys.exe and GV_Detect.ini to your GV system folder and then run DetectSys.exe.

After running the Tool, you may see the following three messages: 

1. "Install the card's driver first" --> Indicates you have not installed the card driver.
Install the driver and run the Tool again.

2. "You are eligible to upgrade your GV-System to Version 8.01" --> Indicates
your system is qualified for upgrade. Download V8.01 from our website.

3. "If you have a USB dongle, your GV-System is eligible for upgrade to Version
7050. Otherwise, you can only upgrade your GV-System to Version 6050" --> Indicates your system is not qualified for upgrade to V8.01.

Version 8.2 Full Version Download Instructions:

 To get started with your GeoVision Software Upgrade simply follow the three download links below. Due to the increasing size of file downloads (as linked below), GeoVision will provide you with a form to request a download. GeoVisions goal is for you to enjoy the latest software version in a timely and efficient manner.
