4K Resolution Security Cameras

Cameras that offer 4K, or 8-megapixel, resolution offer some of the highest detail and clarity available on the security camera market. Outputting approximately four times that amount of pixels as a 1080p HD security camera, these 4K surveillance cameras use advanced 8-megapixel image sensors in order to put out HD quality video.
4K cameras offer the ability to zoom in on distant objects without drastically reducing image quality--without the use of a varifocal lens. Because the 4K image sensor allows the camera to capture more light, improve color, contrast, low-light performance, and resolution, you’ll have the ability to digitally zoom to enhance any part of your 4K video in the event an incident occurs.
4K IP cameras systems are equipped with High Efficiency Video Coding, or H.265, video compression in order to keep file sizes smaller without losing the 4K video quality.
What is the difference between (1080p) HD and Ultra HD 4K?
- 4K = 8.3 megapixels, 16:9 (apect ratio, horizontal resolution)
- 1080p = 2.1 megapixels, 16:9 (aspect ratio, vertical resolution)
- 720p = 1.3 megapixels, 16:9 (aspect ratio, vertical resolution)
- D1 = 0.4 Megapixel, 4:3 (aspect ratio, vertical resolution)
4K Security Camera Applications
4K security systems are great for areas with lots of traffic; places where you’ll need to be able to zoom in to see what is going on. Hotels, tourist spots, sports arenas and fields, schools and universities, retail stores, bus and train stations, government facilities, and more can all benefit from a 4K security system.
